Basic Counselling Skills and Holistic Coaching
Holistic Health Practitioner Students

Our emotions influence not only our reactions to the people and events around us but also have a strong link to our physcial well-being.

The mark of a good practitioner is their ability to support the client in setting and reaching goals for physical well-being; to discern when clients need a sympathetic ear, emotional release, or psychotherapeutic support to deal with their ailments; and to offer a safe and comfortable environment for clients in which to allow for honest exploration of the emotional connections to ailments.

This 22-hour course covers:

  • The art of listening and empathy
  • Focusing as a tool to let the body talk
  • Setting appropriate professional boundaries and professional communication tools
  • When to refer a client for psychological/psychotherapeutic support
  • Dealing with common psychological issues — sexual abuse, physical abuse, shame, anger, depression, etc.
  • Dealing with emotional release — guiding the release of anger, grief, fear, etc.
  • Tools for setting realistic goals
  • Tapping into the power of intention
  • Follow-up and motivating your client
