Applying Vibrational Sound to Your Practice
Learn how pioneers of sound healing and sound therapy apply sound within their field of work. Study the application of sound through voice, ritual, meditative sound experiences and vibrational instruments including tuning forks, Tibetan bowls, tingshaws, crystal bowls and hand-held practitioner bowls. There will be a strong focus on in-class dyad, table, and group work in this course. Ideal for holistic practitioners, psychotherapists, body workers and energy workers who want to integrate sound into their practice.
This 30 hour course involves:
- An introduction to leading vocal innovators, improvisers and sound healers who work with vocal sound plus intention
- Using the voice as an instrument for innovation, healing and transformation – sounding for entrainment, not for entertainment
- Explore the East Indian Sanskrit sound healing systems which use toning, chanting, bija mantras and Kirtan to raise energy and clear and balance the chakras and energy field
- Use sound in ritual and create sacred ritual space for your clients. Includes grounding techniques.
- Learn meditative sound applications such as GIM (The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music), TME (Transcendent Musical Experiences) and more
- More techniques for working with tuning forks, crystal bowls and Tibetan bowls. History, latest research and applications of these instruments.
- BioSonic Repatterning using tuning forks.
- Sound healing at ‘End of Life’. An introduction to leaders in the hospice and health fields who use sound to support the terminally ill or dying.
- Putting it all together – how to integrate sound into your practice.
When: Mondays starting Feb 25, 2013 (7:00pm-10:00pm) for 10 weeks
